Unter dem Archon Heliodoros; die Kekropis hatte die elftePrytanie inne; im Thargelion; Lysistratos S.d. Phylarchi-des aus dem Demos Oinoë stellte den Antrag: Da Eumaridas schon früher,damals nämlich, als es geschah, dass Boukris bei Raubzügen durch dasLand zahlreiche von unseren Bürgern nach Kreta verschleppte undauch von den sonstigen Leuten aus der Stadt, viele und große Dienstedem Volk erwiesen und Geld vorgestreckt hat ausseinem Privatvermögen zu den zwanzig Talenten, die vereinbart waren fürdie Gefangenen; er ferner auch (Geld) geliehen hat den Gefangenen für die Reisekosten,und jetzt, als das Volk Gesandte schickte an alle Kreter,damit die Privilegien gültig bleiben und damit,falls irgendwo den einlaufenden Seefahrern der Beuteverkauf gestattet ist, diesaufgehoben werde, er überzeugend dafür sprach, dass in allem das Interesse des Volkesrealisiert werde; er auch teilgenommen hat an der Gesandtschaft nach Knossos und seinen Bundes-genossen, den Gesandten auch Briefe nach Polyrhen mitgegebenhat an seine Freunde, damit diese mit ihnen gemeinsam verhandelnfür die Interessen (des Volkes); er es auf sich nahm, seinie ganze Fürsorgeeinzusetzen für die Erhaltung der Privilegien des Volkesbei allen, die in Kreta wohnen; – Damit nun auch das Volkin öffentlicher Weise diejenigen ehrt, die die Gesinnung, die sie haben,zu jedem Zeitpunkt beweisen, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen das Volk:dass man belobige Eumaridas S.d. Theo-philos aus dem Demos Elaious stellte den Antrag: Da wegen des Wohlwollens, dasEumaridas aus Kydonia stets hegt für das Volk, schon früherdas Volk beschlossen hat, sein Standbild aus Bronze zu weihen; und nun Euryklei-des und Mikion die Dienste darlegen, die er erweist,und ersuchen, dass bewilligt werde die Weihung in dem Heiligtum desVolkes und der Chariten, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen das Volk:dass man Eumaridas gewähre die Weihung des Standbildes, das früherdas Volk beschlossen hat, in dem Heiligtum des Demos und der Chariten,so wie es für ihn Eurykleides und Mikion erbitten; dass auch dieübrigen für ihn beschlossenen Ehren gültig sein sollen.im Lorbeerkranz:Der Rat (und)das Volkfür EumaridasS.d. Polyxenos aus dem Demos Poros stellte den Antrag:Da Charmion, Sohn des Eumaridas aus Kydonia, der proxenosund Wohltäter ist, in der Absicht, sich den seinem Vater verliehenenEhrungen würdig zu erweisen, zu Schiff in den Piräuskam, nachdem er als Festgesandter vom Volk nach Delphi geschickt worden war,und als die Generäle ihn (vor den Rat) einführten, er dem Rataufzählte das väterliche Wohlwollen und das, was von ihm in die Tat umgesetztworden ist, und für die Zukunft ankündigte, nützlich zu seinspeziell und allgemein denjenigen Athenern, die nach Kreta kommen; –Damit nun zu jedem Zeitpunkt die Privilegien für verdiente Menschenrealisiert werden, jetzt wie auch schon früher, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließender Rat: dass die erlosten Vorsitzenden für die kommende Volks-versammlung hierüber verhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlage desRates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat es für gut befindet, dass dieStrategen Gastgeschenke schicken an Charmion S.d. Eumaridas und seineneingetroffenen Mitgesandten seinen Sohn Eumaridas;dass der Schatzmeister der Militärkasse die entstehenden Kostenbegleiche gemäß der Liste; dass ihm auch die väterlicheProxenie sein solle und seinen Nachkommen; dass er, wenn er auch in Zukunftden Erweis derselben Gesinnung erbringt, Auszeichnung finden wirdbei dem Rat und dem Volk, deren er öffentlich für würdig erachtet wird.

Dionysios son of Theophilosof Elaious proposed: since on account of the good will whichEumaridas of Kydonia continues to have towards the People, the Peoplepreviously voted to erect a statue of him, and now Eurykleidesand Mikion, drawing attention to the services he has rendered,think it right that he be granted the erection in the precinct of thePeople and the Graces, for good fortune, the People shall decide,that Eumaridas be granted the erection of the statue, which the Peoplevoted for him previously, in the precinct of the People and the Graces,as Eurykleides and Mikion request for him; and therest of the honours voted for him shall be valid.in olive crown:The Councilthe People (crown)Eumaridasson of Panklesof Kydonia.
In the archonship of Phanarchides, in the third prytany,of Pandionis. Boedromion. Nikias son of Polyxenos of Poros proposed:since Charmion, being the son of Eumaridas of Kydonia, who was proxenosand benefactor, showing himself worthyof the honours granted to his father, having sailed intothe Piraeus, was sent to Delphi as official visitor by the citizens,the generals having put him forward, and has given an accountto the Council of his ancestral good will and of what he had accomplished,and announces that he will be useful in the futureto those Athenians present in Crete, both individually and collectively;in order therefore that privileges may be awarded at every opportunity to those who are worthynow, just as previously, for good fortune, the Councilshall decide, that the presiding committee allotted for the forthcomingAssembly shall put these matters on the agenda, and submit the opinionof the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council, that the generalsshould despatch gifts of hospitality to Charmion son of Eumaridas, and tothose who are members of the official delegation with him, and to his son, Eumaridas;and the treasurer of the military fund shall allocate the expenditure accruedin accordance with the usual arrangements; and he shall have his ancestralproxeny, and his descendants; and it shall be possible for him, on his demonstrating in the future hisown preference, to obtain benefitsfrom the Council and the People, whatever he may appear to be worthy of.
